A pair of Northeast Kansas League teams traveled to Lyndon to continue their volleyball seasons and put forth great performances against some different competition. Valley Falls continued a solid start to the season taking second at the Lyndon Invitational, while Jackson Heights finished fourth.
The day started with pool play action and both NEKL teams were in separate pools. Jackson Heights competed in Pool A and finished second in the pool with a 2-1 mark to qualify for the Semifinals. The Cobras notched straight set wins over Marais des Cygnes Valley and Lyndon, while falling in straight sets to Wabaunsee who won Pool A. Valley Falls went 3-0 in Pool B to win the pool and qualify for the Semifinals by beating Lebo, Burlingame and Northern Heights all in straight sets.
In the Semifinals the two NEKL teams got pitted against each other and it was Valley Falls registering a 25-19, 25-15 over Jackson Heights.
The loss sent the Cobras to the third place match were they took on Lebo and fell in straight sets 25-15, 25-20 to finish the day 2-3 with a fourth place finish.
For Valley Falls they took on Wabaunsee and wrapped up the day 4-1 falling to Wabaunsee in straight sets 25-18, 25-23 in the Championship.
