Five Area Teams Remain in Latest KVA Volleyball Rankings

The high school volleyball season is in full swing and after two weeks of action the five area teams remain in the Kansas Volleyball Association rankings. 

The Centralia Panthers lead the way for area teams in the rankings moving up one spot to the #1 ranking in Class 1A-Division I after an 11-0 start to the season picking up wins against Washington County and Troy on Tuesday night. Hanover Wildcats who snagged wins against Onaga and Hanover on Tuesday night and finished second at the Southern Cloud Invite on Saturday now sits at 10-2 on the season and remained #3 in the rankings in Class 1A-DI. Also Immaculata Raiders remain ranked in 1A-DI polls again checking in #7 this week with a 7-2 record after a split Tuesday night falling to Valley Falls and beating McLouth. 

Class 1A-Division II continues to house the Axtell Eagles in the rankings as they check in at #6 again this week. Eagles are off to a 9-3 start this season after picking up wins against Frankfort and Wetmore Tuesday night, while falling to Linn at their home quad. 

The Jefferson County North Chargers are the lone area team ranked in Class 2A and moved up one spot this week to #3 after winning the Riley County Invitational over the weekend and picking up League wins against Maur Hill and Jackson Heights on Tuesday to improve to 11-0 on the year. 

Volleyball action continues in the Kanzaland area this week with a few matches Thursday night and more tournament action looming for area teams on Saturday.
