Hit the midway point of the high school football season and District play opened up across the board in 8-Man football and loomed big for Frankfort and Axtell as the two squared off in a big District matchup to open up the second portion of the season. At the end of the night Frankfort set them up strong in the District with a 70-20 victory.

Axtell started the game strong forcing a three and out by Frankfort and moved the ball on a solid first down run by Hunter Koch their first play but only to fumble the ball away two plays later with Jedd Rose of Frankfort recovering. The Wildcats then pounced on an opportunity and a few plays later Adam Kenworthy was off to the races for a 44-yard touchdown run helping Frankfort to the 8-0 lead with 9:12 left in the first quarter. The Eagles responded scoring on the next drive on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Koch to Burke Deters but a failed two-point conversion made 8-6 with 7:23 left in the first quarter.

The two traded scores on their next two drives as Kenworthy ran for a 39-yard touchdown and Michael Swanson tallied a 19-yard touchdown run making 16-14 with 3:52 left in the first quarter. Things changed after that for one team and the other continued to score as Frankfort continued to roll out the points while the Wildcats caged the Eagles offense. Kenworthy tossed a 56-yard touchdown to Rylen Bailey and Josh Armstrong sacked Koch in the endzone for a safety and Frankfort led 24-14 after the end of the first quarter.

Seven seconds into the second the Wildcats found the endzone on a 19-yard touchdown run from Garrett Dalinghaus making it 32-14, but Axtell answered as Quinn Buessing hit Swanson for a 39-yard touchdown and the lead was cut to 10 with 11:35 remaining in the first half. The Wildcats went on a scoring barrage the rest of the first half as Kenworthy added touchdown runs of eight and 76 yards, while Dalinghaus had a 31 yard touchdown run and Armstrong sacked Buessing in the endzone for his second safety of the game. With a 1:04 left in the first half the Wildcat defense scored as Dalinghaus picked off a pass and took it back 30 yards for the score to make it 64-20.

The Eagles looking to try and score before halftime were picked off again by Dalinghaus and he returned it 52-yards to appear to seal the Frankfort win but a block in the back negated the score and it was halftime.

After stopping Axtell on their first drive of the second half, Frankfort didn't wait long to find the endzone again as Kenworthy hit Austin Hardwick for a 25-yard touchdown pass to end the game with 8:35 left to go in the third quarter with a final score of 70-20.

Kenworthy continued to lead the Wildcats has he has done this season amassing 225 yards rushing on 15 carries with four touchdowns, while going 4-5 for 108 yards and two touchdowns. The freshman, Dalinghaus added 161 yards on 14 carries with two touchdowns and two interceptions including the pick six and earned Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA as Frankfort moved to 3-2 on the year and starts District play 1-0.

Axtell with the loss falls to 2-3 on the season and were led by Koch who was 9-12 for 90 yards with touchdown, while Swanson caught eight passes for 89 yards and touchdown and Buessing finished 4-9 for 88 yards and touchdown.
