Jeff West & Perry Lecompton Volleyball Finish Second & Fourth at Silver Lake Invite

A quartet of Big Seven League volleyball teams hit the volleyball court on Saturday as part of the Silver Lake Invitational. 

Jeff West Tigers led the four Big Seven League schools with a second place finish, while Perry Lecompton placed fourth and Royal Valley and Sabetha finished seventh and eighth, respectively. 

The Tigers after a 2-1 pool play performance beating Chapman and Sabetha in straight sets and a straight set loss to Silver Lake moved into the Winner bracket Semifinals. In the Semifinals the Tigers took on St. Mary's and won in three sets and moved into the Championship match were they faced the host Silver Lake and the Tigers fell to the Eagles in straight sets to finish 3-2 on the day and second place. 

Perry Lecompton took second in their pool after a 2-1 performance beating Rossville and Royal Valley in three sets each and fell to St. Mary's in straight sets. In the Semifinals the Kaws fell to Silver Lake in straight sets and moved to the third place match again facing St. Mary's once again and fell this time in three sets to take fourth finishing the tournament 2-3. 

Both Royal Valley and Sabetha finished their pool play portions of the day with 0-3 marks falling into the consolation bracket were they each lost a consolation Semifinal match to Chapman and Rossville, respectively each in straight sets. That pitted the two Big Seven League schools against each other for seventh place and Royal Valley finished the day with a win over the Bluejays in straight sets to finish 1-4 on the tournament, while Sabetha was 0-5 on the day.
