Holton & Jeff West Area Girls Golfers Qualify for State

Full 4A Hayden Regional Results - Individual Scores & Team Scores

The Holton Wildcats and Jeff West Tigers girl's golf teams teed it up at the Cypress Ridge golf course in Topeka on Tuesday in the 4A Hayden Regional competition looking to earn a spot at State next week. 

A trio of golfers between the two schools will be head to State after qualifying individually for the Class 4A State competition next week. 

The Holton Wildcats had a pair of individuals qualify for State as Sarah Holaday carded a 95 on the day at Regionals to earn seventh place out of 56 golfers and in the process qualify for State. Joining her will be Faith Holaday who with a 102 finished 15th and earned a spot at State as an individual competitor. The Wildcats as a team posted a score of 415 to finish fifth out of nine teams missing the cut to qualify as a team by 19 strokes as the top three team scores go to State from each Regional. 

Jeff West Tigers finished fourth as a team with a team score of 412, finishing 16-strokes out of qualifying for State as a team at the 4A Hayden Regional. One lady Tiger did qualify for State as an individual as Miranda Hein posted a 99 on the day to tie for 11th place and qualify individually for State. 

Class 4A State girls golf is set for Monday, October 17th with tee times starting at 9:00am in Hesston at Hesston Golf Park.
