With only one weekend remaining for regular season tournament play and only a few regular season contests left high school volleyball teams are gearing up for the postseason. The Kansas Volleyball Association has released its week six rankings and six area teams remain the rankings.
With an unblemished 32-0 record the Centralia Panthers continue to hold down the #1 ranking in Class 1A-Division I has they have for most of the season. The Panthers picked up wins against Axtell, Wetmore and Clifton-Clyde on Tuesday night to improve to 32-0 on the year. Hanover and Immaculata continue to join Centralia in the 1A-DI rankings as the Wildcats and Raiders rank #5 and #8 again this week. Hanover sits at 27-6 on the year after beating Blue Valley and Doniphan West on Tuesday, while Immaculata split on Tuesday falling to Valley Falls but beat McLouth to move to 22-10 on the season.
Class 1A-Division II continues to house the Axtell Eagles in the rankings as they are ranked #6 again this week and have a 18-13 record after beating Clifton-Clyde and falling to Centralia on Tuesday night.
Class 2A continues to have a pair of Northeast Kansas League teams in the polls with Jefferson County North and Valley Falls ranked #6 and #8. The Chargers fell two spots in the rankings and are 26-4 on the season after beating Maur Hill and Jackson Heights on Tuesday and winning the Riverside Invite over the weekend. Valley Falls picked up wins against Immaculata and McLouth on Tuesday and move to 27-7 on the season but fell one spot in the rankings this week.
