At State for the first time in 37 years the Hanover lady Wildcats volleyball team made the best of their appearance at the 1A-DI finishing second place.

Hanover opened up the State tournament as the five seed and in pool play faced off against LaCrosse, Pretty Prairie and Centralia. The Wildcats opened State with a pool play against LaCrosse and battled to a straight set win 25-19, 25-21. Next up the Wildcats faced a familiar foe in fellow Twin Valley League team in Centralia and having lost twice to the Panthers in the regular season but in the battle of the cats Hanover handed Centralia their first loss of the season beating the Panthers 25-22, 25-23 to win against Centralia for the first time since 2010. Hanover finished pool play with a matchup against Pretty Prairie and took care of business winning 25-11, 25-19 to secure a 3-0 day on Friday in 1A-DI State volleyball pool play and make the Semifinals as the pool winner.

In the Semifinals Hanover took on South Barber and continued their roll at State earning the 25-20, 25-16 win to make it to the State Championship contest where another showdown with Centralia loomed. The Wildcats fell behind early to Centralia in the title match and were unable to get back in it falling 13-25, 15-25 to finish State 4-1 and Class 1A-DI State runner-up.

The 4-1 mark at State capped the season at 38-8 for the Hanover Wildcats.
