Axtell, Centralia and Hanover Combine for Nine Volleyball State All-Tournament Players

Five area teams made it to State volleyball tournaments with three of the five making the final four in their classifiction and registering two State titles and a State runner-up performance. Those top flight performances earned nine girls Kansas Volleyball Association State All-Tournament team honors. 

The Class 1A-DII State title belonged to Axtell at the end of the competition going 5-0 at State to finish the year 27-15 and win the school's first ever State volleyball title. The team was balanced all-around in their State performance but a trio of lady Eagles earned State All-Tournament team honors for their performance at State. Seniors, Anna Buessing and Maddy Kuckelman each picked up State All-Tournament honros at middle hitter/setter and outside hitter, respectively, while junior, Trisha Matthewson also was named to the team at setter/middle hitter. 

In Class 1A-DI the Centralia Panthers won the State title for the third time in the last four years and 13th time in school history finishing the year 44-1. A trio of lady Panthers picked up State All-Tournament teams honors in helping Centralia secure another top flight finish with a pair of seniors leading the All-Tournament honors as Cassidy Haufler and Sadi Boyce getting the honors at outside hitter and setter, respectively. For Haufler it's her third time selected to the State All-Tournament team. Sophomore, Madison Lueger also earned the All-Tournament team honors coming at the outside hitter spot. 

The Hanover Wildcats who finished second in 1A-DI with a 38-8 record on the season also had three gals earn State All-Tournament honors as seniors, Ashton Jueneman and Riley Doeble each got the honor at middle blocker and setter/right side. Sophomore, Macy Doebele joined her teammates on the 1A-DI All-Tournament getting the honors as an outside hitter.
