Sacred Heart Football Season Ends With Loss in Semi's

The Falls City Sacred Heart football season came to an end Monday night with a loss to Humphrey St. Francis is the Class D2 state semifinals at Jug Brown Stadium.
The Flyers opened a 20-0 lead at halftime on three one yard touchdown runs by quarterback Nate Classen. The Flyers eventually pushed the lead to 30-0 before the Irish could get on the board.  The final score was 38-13. 
Sacred Heart finishes the season 11-1.  The Flyers are undefeated and will play for the state title Monday at 10:45 a-m at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln against Giltner.
J.J. Oltmer led HSF with 141 yards rushing on 18 carries.
Sacred Heart senior quarterback Lane Scheitel hit on 11 of 20 pass attempts for 135 yards and one touchdown.  Scheitel also scored a touchdown.
Lane Barnhill ran for 57 yards and caught two passes for 26 yards and Clay Finck caught four passes for 86 yards and his 13th receiving touchdown of the year.
Scheitel finishes his Sacred Heart career as the schools all time leader in pass attempts with 268, pass completions with 142,  passing yards with 2,330 and touchdown passes with 41.  Scheitel finishes with 2,431 career rushing yards which is 8th all-time and 4th on the career total yardage list with more than 4,800 yards.
Lane Barnhill becomes just the second Sacred Heart player to rush for more than 1,500 yards in a single season and he finishes his career with over 3,000 career total yards.  For his career, Barnhill averaged 12.6 yards per touch, which is the best ever for a Sacred Heart player. 
Clay Finck finished the season with 610 receiving yards, good for third on the single season list and 13 touchdown receptions on 22 catches.
The 22 catches rank 7th for a single season and his 36 career receptions rank 11th.  The 13 TD catches this season rank second for one season and his 21 career TD reception rank first for players dating back to 1987
