Holton Wrestlers Go 4-1 at Spring Hill Duals

The Holton Wildcats got the wrestling season rolling in strong fashion competing against some top level opponents on Friday at the Spring Hill Duals and coming out of the action 4-1, despite less than a handful of practices for several football athletes. 

The Wildcats notched wins over Blue Valley West 45-24, Olathe South 36-25, Shawnee Mission South 66-13 and Desoto 41-24 with their lone dual loss on the day coming against Olathe Northwest 27-51. 

Three Holton grapplers finished the day unbeaten as Lawson Henry led the charge going 5-0 at 132lbs picking up four pinfall wins in 1:14, :49, 2:34 and 1:41, while winning his other bout by a 4-0 decision. Both Coulter Bisel (113lbs) and Kyler Tannahill (285lbs) tallied 4-0 days on the mats for Holton at the Spring Hill Duals. Bisel won three of his four matches via pinfall in :31, :28 and 1:48 and also notched a 10-4 decision win, while Tannahill won all four of his bouts by pin in :42, :42, 1:26 and 1:41. 

Ace Eisenbarth recorded a strong day on the mats going 4-1 with two pinfall wins in in 4:27 and 1:08, while also winning by major decision 17-5 and a 19-12 decision win at 152lbs. 

Four Wildcats registered two wins on the day as Tyler Price (170lbs) and Tel Wittmer each went 2-2. Price had a 5-4 decision win and a pinfall win in 38 seconds, while Wittmer had a pair of wins by pin in 44 seconds and 4:55. It was a 2-1 record on the mats for Jameson Lutz and Logan Cannon for Holton at 182lbs and 160lbs, respectively. Lutz had wins by 11-4 and 9-6 decisions and Cannon won a bout with an 8-2 decision and also by pin in 1:59.  

Cameron Smith (106lbs), Taygen Fletcher (120lbs), Keegan Purcell (126lbs), Colter Rhodd (138lbs), Cael Jackson (145lbs) and Dylan Aeschliman (195lbs) all notched one win on the mats for Holton at the Spring Hill Duals. 

Wildcats hit the mats again next Thursday at Jeff West for a double dual.
