Sabetha Bluejays played host to fifth other schools on Saturday for a wrestling duals competition and it was the host Bluejays coming out as the top team at the end of the competition. 

Bluejays went 5-0 in their duals topping Pleasant Ridge 54-14, HTRS 53-18, Riley County 59-18, Wamego 53-15 and Auburn (NE) 44-31 to earn first place. Auburn with behind a 4-1 day took second place with wins over HTRS (48-36), Pleasant Ridge (43-18), Riley County (60-12) and Wamego (47-15). HTRS took third place going 3-2 on dual action registering wins over Wamego (48-24), Pleasant Ridge (48-15) and Riley County (54-24). Wamego, Riley County and Pleasant Ridge finished out the standings placing fourth, fifth and sixth going 2-3, 1-4 and 0-5 on the day. The two wins for Wamego came 48-18 over Riley County and 39-16 over Pleasant Ridge, while Riley County beat Pleasant Ridge 36-24. 

Many Sabetha Bluejay wrestlers had strong days on their home mats helping the Bluejays win their home dual tournament. Matt Meyer enjoyed a 5-0 day at 152lbs with all five wins coming via pinfall in :12, :57, :19, 2:34 and 2:52, while Seth Harrell at 126lbs notched a 3-0 performance in matches wrestled with two pinfall wins (2:47 and :23), along with a technical fall 15-0 win. Elliot Strahm (285lbs) posted a 4-1 day with three pinfall wins 1:23, :52 and :13 and also grabbed a 4-3 decision, while at 182lbs Cauy Rokey finished 2-0 in matches wrestled with two pinfall wins (:15 and 1:15). 

It was 3-1 days on the mat in actual matches wrestled for Brandon Brownlee (145lbs), Cobrin Halls (138lbs) and Brayden Becker (170lbs). Brownlee won by pinfall twice and also via technical fall, while Halls had two pinfall wins and a win by 3-0 decision and Becker notched three wins by pin. Kamden Brownlee at 160lbs went 2-2 with a pair of wins by pin and Carson Ukele (195lbs) notched one win by pinfall in his lone bout. 

Pleasant Ridge was led by Nic Stiver (285lbs) who went 5-0 picking up every win via pin in :31, 2:00, :32, :16 and :36. Both Luke Oatney (132lbs) and Robert Gwartney (152lbs) each went 3-2 for the Rams with Oatney getting two pinfall wins and a technical fall win, while Gwartney had three pinfalls wins. Nick Bridges (170lbs) went 3-1 recording wins via decision 7-0 and 5-1 and also winning by pin in 1:24, while Colt Ewert (138lbs) record one win on the day. 

Sabetha hits the mat again on Thursday, December 15th when they take on Big Seven League foe in Holton on the road, while Pleasant Ridge continues their wrestling season when they host tournament action on Saturday, December 17th.
