Holton Wins Big Seven Wrestling Dual With Sabetha

Solid starts to the year in high school wrestling for both Holton and Sabetha and the two teams continued their seasons on Thursday night for Big Seven League dual on the mats. 

Holton claimed the win on the night 54-22 in the dual with Sabetha as 10 of the 14 weight classes featured a Wildcat versus Bluejay showdown on the mats. The Wildcats claimed wins in seven of the 10 bouts wrestled on the night. 

Coulter Bisel of Holton at 120lbs earned a pinfall win over Braden Mitchell of Sabetha, while Keegan Purcell of Holton at 132lbs also picked up a win via pin over Trenton Meyer of Sabetha. Logan Cannon (160lbs), Cael Jackson (145lbs) and Tyler Price (170lbs) for Holton all joined Bisel and Purcell with pinfall wins on the night beating Cole Oehm, Brandon Brownlee and Tanner Ukele of Sabetha, respectively. The two other wins for Holton on the night came from Lawson Henry (138lbs) and Ace Eisenbarth (152lbs) who each notched a win by decision on the night. Henry beat Corbin Halls of Sabetha by 7-3 decision and Eisenbarth won a 7-4 decision over Kamden Brownlee of Sabetha. 

Sabetha on the evening had a trio of grapplers pick up wins against Holton. Both Elliot Strahm (285lbs) and Seth Harrell (126lbs) registered pinfall victories over their opponents Kyler Tannahill and Kobly Roush of Holton. While Cauy Rokey at 182lbs picked up a 15-4 major decision win over Dylan Aeschliman. 

Next up for both teams is action on Saturday, December 17th for Holton at the Ottawa Invite, while Sabetha heads into the Holiday break and will hit the mats again on Saturday, January 7th at the Rossville Invite.
