GIRLS = Doniphan West 41, Troy 25

After a 4-0 start for Troy over the first 4:40 of the game, D-West answered with a 7-0 run and never looked back in avenging one of the early season losses.  The Lady Trojans struggled with 31 turnovers and were held under 30 points for the sixth time this season.  Lexi Norris and Kassi Meng each scored eight points before Troy dropped to 1-9 on the season.  Doniphan West led 21-14 at halftime and grew the margin through the second half while improving to 5-8 on the season with Makinley Smith posting 13 points, including 7 of 11 free throws. Mia Scott added 9 points while Kirsten Huss and Carlie Taylor each chipped in 7.

BOYS = Troy 65, Doniphan West 45

Troy missed their first 10 treys of the game but got a half court shot from Reid Greaser to take a 35-33 lead into the fourth quarter.  Greaser then hit back to back treys to start the final period and Troy scored a whopping 30 points in the last eight minutes to pull away for their third win against their rival Mustangs.  Doniphan West led 23-19 at halftime and kept the Trojans close with a box and one defense until some late turnovers as Troy got transition offense rolling in the fourth quarter and the Mustangs might have ran out of gas playing their fifth game in seven days.

Devin Taylor scored 17 points for D-West while Newt Smith added 11, but the Mustangs fell to7-6 on the season with their third straight loss.  Troy made 18 of 24 free throws and had seven fewer turnovers while improving to 9-1 and bouncing back from their only setback in the championship game Saturday at the TVL Tourney (76-67 vs. Hanover).  Cuttar Huss scored 18 points while Wil Smith added 16 and Brody Winder chipped in 15.  Greaser scored 11, but his three consecutive trifecata's turned the game around and led to a 30-12 fourth quarter.
