Twelve Area Wrestlers & One Area Team Ranked in Latest KWCA Rankings (Jan. 31st)

Only a few duals and tournament remain in the regular season as Regionals loom in two weeks and wrestlers continue to prepare for the chance to compete for the right to make the State tournament. The KWCA has released new rankings and 12 area wrestlers, along with one area team are in the latest rankings between Class 4A and 3-2-1A. 

The Marysville Bulldogs continue to lead the charge in the rankings for area wrestlers as the Bulldogs rank fourth as a team in the Class 3-2-1A Top 10 and have been in the Top 10 as a team all year. Marysville senior, Jacob Mintzmyer continues to hold down the #1 ranking at 170lbs, while seniors, Jacob Stryker and Nick Ackerman and freshman, Joey Bockin each come in at #4 at 182lbs, 195lbs and 113lbs, respectively.

Both Sabetha and Pleasant Ridge are represented in the Class 3-2-1A rankings with a pair of grapplers. Bluejay junior, Seth Harrell comes in at #5 at 126lbs, while sophomore, Cauy Rokey ranks #6 at 182lbs in the latest rankings. For Pleasant Ridge senior, Nick Stiver and sophomore, Trevor Ragland each rank #6 in their weight classes of 285lbs and 113lbs. 

ACCHS, Royal Valley and Riverside are all represented in the latest 3-2-1A rankings also. Tiger senior, Hunter Ostertag continues to have a strong year and ranks #1 at 138lbs, while Royal Valley senior, Jacob Box ranks #2 at 195lbs and Riverside senior, Donovan Duncan comes in ranked #6 at 220lbs. 

Class 4A continues to house just one area wrestler in the rankings as Holton Wildcat senior, Tyler Price ranks #3 at 170lbs in the latest KWCA rankings. 

Area grapplers continue their seasons this week with several duals and tournaments as as they continue to prepare for Regionals in two weeks.
