JCN Boys Take First at McLouth Track Invite Leading Area Performances

McLouth Track Invite Full Results (4-7-17) - Girls & Boys

Several area teams enjoyed some nice weather finally and took to competition at the McLouth Invite in track and field. 

Leading the way for the area performances was the Jefferson County North Charger boys who with 137 total points earned first place as a team, while Royal Valley and Maur Hill-Mount Academy finished second and third. The rest of the area teams finished sixth for McLouth, seventh for Oskaloosa, eighth for Horton and tied tenth for Immaculata as 13 schools were in action. The top area girls performance came from JCN was they finished fourth behind Christ Prep, KC East Christian and Heritage Christian. Royal Valley girls rounded out the Top five team finishes, while Maur Hill-Mount Academy took seventh, Oskaloosa eighth, Immaculata ninth, McLouth tenth and Horton 11th out of 13 schools. 

On the way to first place as a team the JCN boys won six events at the McLouth Invite. On the track both the 4x100m (46.18) and 4x400m relay (3:42.84) teams earned first place, while 
Brayden Summers posted a time of 2:13.27 to win the 800 meter run. Gavin Polson, Jacob Schrick and Braden Schneider all tossed to their way to a gold medal winning the discus (132'10), javelin (167'11) and shot put (45'00), respectively. 

Royal Valley Panthers were led by a quartet of event winners on the day as Lucas Broxterman won the high jump (6'02) and Garrett Hicks won the pole vault (12'06) in the boy’s competition. While in the girls action Taylor Russell won the discus (110'01) and Kenzie Hegemann won the pole vault. 

Maur Hill-Mount Academy, McLouth, Oskaloosa and Horton all had at least two event wins on the day. For the Ravens Heather Ronnebaum earned first place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:38.67, while Nic Caudle won the boys 100 and 400 meter dashes behind times of 11.51 and 53.27. 

The host McLouth had both of their event wins come from the leaping ability of Dimitri Tullis won the boys long jump (21'03) and triple jump (41'10). 

Oskaloosa Bears first place finishes came in the girl’s competition as Alexi Adams won the 400 meter dash (1:02.99) and Jaden Courter tossed her way to first in the shot put (36'02.50). 

Daspin Bruning and Marshall Randall led the Horton Chargers winning the girls javelin (113'11) and the boy’s 200 meter dash (24.00). 

Immaculata had one event winner on the day as Charlize Pate won the girls 300 meter hurdles.
