Linn & Vermillion Highlight Frankfort Boys Golf Invitational

Twin Valley League teams hit the links on Monday in Onaga for the Frankfort Invitational and it proved to provide some tight competition. 

Vermillion (Frankfort and Centralia) claimed the Top team spot with only three teams in attendance fielding full four-man teams. A team score of 385 by Vermillion earned them first place, while Onaga and Valley Heights posted teams scores of 458 and 469 on the day. Linn and Hanover were both also in action on the day. 

Leading the way with the best rounds were two Linn Bulldogs as Chase McGatlin and Andrew Meyer posted rounds of 90 and 91, respectively to finish first and second place at the Frankfort Invitational. 

Vermillion grabbed the next four spots in the individual standings as Austin Hardwick, Jason Gore, Josh Tynon and Spencer Dressman finished third through sixth, respectively. Hardwick carded a 92 only two strokes off of first place, while Gore and Tynon both finished under triple digits with rounds of 94 and 99 and Dressman carded an even 100. Brandon Bussman and Brandon Anderson also finished in the Top 10 for Vermillion after rounds of 103 and 110 gave them eighth and tenth place finishes. 

Valley Heights was led by Bryan Yungeberg who with a round of 101 earned seventh place, while Onaga had Jaiden Kolterman post a 109 to finish ninth. Hanover had three golfers in action with Nate Luppen finishing 14th for the Wildcats best performance of the 25 competitors in action on the day.
