Maur Hill Boys Golf Leads Area Performances at Horton Invite

Four area teams along with two others teed it up on Tuesday in Horton for some golf action. 

While Rossville notched the best four-man team score on the day with a 185 it was Maur Hill-Mount Academy with the best area team performance finishing in second of the six teams. The Ravens posted a team score of 190. St. Marys took third as a team with a score of 201, while host Horton finished fourth with a score of 215 and Atchison and Onaga finished the team standings in fifth and sixth with scores of 223 and 249.

A trio of Top 10 finishers led Maur Hill-Mount Academy on the day including Riley Funk posting a 44 to take first place, while Isaac Henderson tallied a 45 and took fourth place. Cole Harris with a 47 earned sixth place for the Ravens. Nolan Dulac and Alex Quaile each carded rounds of 54, while Austin Coder shot a 59 for Maur Hill. 

Horton and Atchison each had one Top 10 golfer on the day. For the host Chargers, Cameron Smith posted the best round of the day with a 46 to finish fifth. Four other golfers were in action for Horton also as Cole Bottom shot a 49, Rylee Rodvelt a 56 and both Sam Gasper and Kyle Hammersmith each shot a 64. 

Nathan Sowers led Atchison with a 47 to place seventh on the day at the Horton Invite. Derek Thompson had the second best Redmen day on the links with a 49, while Micah Dulac posted a 61, both Kairstin Snyder and Brittany Ettleman each posted a 66 and Mason Oswalt shot a 68. 

Onaga had four golfers in action as Quentin Lara, Jaxon Schlegel, Tommy Kaberline and KC Koelzer posted rounds of 56, 58, 58 and 77, respectively.
