Jeff West Boys Golf Takes First at Big Seven Quad Hosted By Perry Lecompton

A trio of Big Seven League schools continued their golf seasons on Monday competing against each other as Perry Lecompton played host to Jeff West and Royal Valley. 

The Tigers of Jeff West posted the best team score of the three teams carding a 176 as a team to take first, while Perry Lecompton finished with a team score of 188 and Royal Valley notched a 218 team score. 

Leading the way for Jeff West was the best individual round of the day as Preston Stanley shot a 38 winning by five strokes over his teammate, Zach Murdock who took second with a 43. Cooper Mickens earned fourth place after shooting a 45 and a 50 by Isaac Dickey finished out the Tiger team score. Gavin Schwinn and Charlie Roy were also in action at the varsity level and carded rounds of 51 and 52. 

The host Perry Lecompton was led by Nick Maloun who finished third after posting a score of 45, while a 47 by Blake Farmer earned him fifth place on the day. Christjen Schmidt and Trevor Cunningham-Henry also were in action for the Kaws and both tallied rounds of 48. 

Royal Valley Panthers had six golfers in action and were led by Corey Humpert who shot a 51. Sheldon Hess, Max Hennis and August Delin posted rounds of 55, 56 and 57, while Charlotte Rooks and Ben Hubbard shot rounds of 64 and 66. 

Both Perry Lecompton and Royal Valley are set to hit the links again on Tuesday as the Kaws will compete at the Rossville Invite and the Panthers at the Maur Hill-Mount Academy Invite. Jeff West will continue their season on Thursday, May 4th at the Perry Lecompton Invite.
