Hanover, Washington County & Linn Compete at Grizzly Track Invitational at Rock Hills

A trio of Twin Valley League track squads competed at the Grizzly Invitational hosted by Rock Hills on Friday and Hanover, Linn and Washington County all had several top notch performances. 

Hanover Wildcats were led by the girls 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay teams who behind times of 4:17.02 and 10:47.90 earned first place, while Claire Zarybnicky also won the girls 800 meter run with a time of 2:27.02. Zarybnikcy added a second place finish in the 400 meter dash and the girls 4x100 meter relay team took fourth. Macy Doebele earned second in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump. A second place finish by Michael Jueneman in the boy’s 300 meter hurdles led the Hanover boys on the day. Adam Zarybnicky and Daiken Stallbaumer each took third in the 800 meter run and triple jump, while the 4x400 meter relay team also took third and 4x800 took fourth. 

Shleby Ohlde led the Linn Bulldogs on the day winning the 200 meter dash (27.34) and high jump (5'04), while Brooke Diederich placed second in the triple jump and third in the long jump and 200 meter dash. The lady Bulldogs 4x100 meter relay took second place, while Brooke Beier finished third in the javelin and Hunter York placed fifth in the discus. In the boys competition Chantz Peters placed third in the shot put and Daniel York finished fifth. 

Washington County Tigers were led by Jerrod Hoover as a toss of 165'06 earned him first place in the javelin, while also taking third in the high jump. Levi Gauby earned second place in the triple jump, while Hunter Kier took second in the discus and fourth in the shot put. Jae Eaton added a third place finish in the discus for the Tigers, while Eric Miller placed fifth in the 3200 meter run and pole vault. Lady Tigers were led by Brenna Linenberger who finished fourth in the discus and fifth in the javelin, while Tess Cecrle placed fifth in the shot put. 

All three schools are set to continue their track seasons next Thursday, May 11th at the Twin Valley League meet hosted by Washington County.
