Big Seven All-League Baseball Honors Awarded

The 2017 Big 7 League baseball season is in the books and postseason honors have been handed out. 

Both Nemaha Central and Jeff West finished tied atop the League standings after splitting the season series, sharing the Big Seven League title. 

A trio of Jeff West Tigers picked up first team All-League honors as Nathan Buss was a unanimous selection at outfield and both Josh Lanum and Grant Thompson earned first team honors at pitcher. Lucas Becker for the Tigers earned honorable mention honors. 

Nemaha Central was led by a pair of players earning first team honors as Austin Gerety picked up first team All-League honors at both pitcher and infield, while Lucas Schraad got the first team nod at outfield. Mitchell Henry, Ryan Hasenkamp, Derek Uphaus and Paul Enneking each snagged honorable mention All-League honors. 

Both Sabetha and Perry Lecompton finished with the second best League mark behind the Thunder and Tigers. For Sabetha in their first high school baseball season they had a trio of players earn first team All-League honors. Blake Frey picked up first team honors at outfield, while Joe Gruber got the nod at infield and Brayden Becker earned the honor at utility. Seth Burdick and Brandon Brownlee each earned honorable mention honors, while Gruber also picked up honorable mention to go along with his first team honors. 

Perry Lecompton Kaw, Blaine Patten earned first team All-League at infield, while Tristan Damme was given honorable mention honors. 

Holton Wildcats qualified for State for the first time in school history and had two players earn first team All-League honors as Brady Mulroy was a unanimous selection at utility and Brady Forrester got the nod at infield. 

Royal Valley was led by Tim Martin who picked up first team All-League honors at infield, while ACCHS Tiger, Hunter Ostertag was named first team catcher in the Big Seven League. 

Riverside Cyclone, Gehrig Shue was selected honorable mention All-League.
