JCN & Valley Falls Run at Lyndon Cross Country Invite

A pair of Northeast Kansas League teams stepped outside the area to keep their cross country season going as the Jefferson County North Chargers and Valley Falls Dragons competed at the Lyndon Invite on Thursday. 

The JCN Chargers on the day were led by an 11th place performance from freshman, Trevor Pentlin. Logan Baker finished just outside of the Top 20 running to 21st place, while Klayton Thompson finished 38th, Dylan Wendling 46th, Jason Melton 55th and Dakota Coffey 60th. The Charger boys as a team finished fifth out of seventh teams, while there were 61 total boys runners on the day. 

Lady Chargers finished fifth out of six teams and were led by Rose Wendling who finished 24th. Makayla Ratsloff ran to a 27th place finish, while Gretchen Babcock placed 31st out of 42 runners. Also in action for the lady Chargers were Della Melton, Amber Bertles and Faith Kramer who finished 39th, 40th and 41st, respectively. 

Valley Falls Dragons were led on the day by a Top 20 showing from Noah Hefty who raced to 15th place in the boy's competition. Nathan Pickerell posted a 30th place showing, while Dallas Clark finished 41st, Caleb Hefty 43rd and Ryan Wunder 49th as the Dragons finished sixth as a team out of seven teams. The lone lady Dragon in action was Rachel Woodgate who finished 36th on the day.
