Four Area Football Teams In Rankings Across State After Week 4

The football season is in full gear with four weeks in the rear view mirror and District play gearing up or in the near future for teams across the State. After four weeks of play four area teams are ranked in the polls while seven others are getting attention in the rankings. 

Two area teams continue to hold the #1 spot in the rankings after four weeks of play. In Class 3A Nemaha Central Thunder sit at 4-0 after beating Jeff West 35-14 last week and the Thunder are ranked #1 in the 3A polls across the State. While Marysville with a loss last week to Concordia fell out of the rankings but are still receiving votes and garnering attention in the polls after a 3-1 start. Also Sabetha and Perry Lecompton continue to get attention in the 3A rankings as they are both 4-0 to open the season. 

The Hanover Wildcats have rolled past their opponents to open the season 4-0 dispatching Linn 56-0 last week and continue to sit atop the perch ranked #1 in 8-Man Division II. While in 8-Man DI the Clifton-Clyde Eagles have flown out to a 4-0 record and continue to get attention in the polls. 

Class 2-1A houses two teams in the rankings with two others getting attention in the polls after four weeks of play. The Jefferson County North Chargers are ranked #2 in a few polls and #3 in a few others. JCN has charged out to a 4-0 start to the season taking down Oskaloosa 50-8 last week. While Valley Heights has ran past their opponents to sit at 4-0 beating Ellis 56-20 last week and the Mustangs sit ranked #4 in a few polls and #5 in the others. Jackson Heights Cobras are 4-0 on the season and Centralia sits at 3-1 now on the year and both continue to get looks for the 2-1A rankings. 

Class 4A-DII continues to see Holton get attention in some polls as the Wildcats are 2-2 on the season.
