Only three area schools compete at the 2A level in non-football sports this year and all three will have at least one runner at the State cross country meet in Wamego on Saturday, October 28th after their performances at Regionals on Saturday.

Jackson Heights Cobra girls missed out on a Top three qualifying team performance at Regionals by eight points but had a trio of gals qualify individually. A top 10 finish for Faith Little as she placed eighth with a time of 21:43.26 earned her a spot at State, while Hanna Davault and Shelby Phillips placed 11th and 12th, respectively and each qualified for State with top times from non-qualifying teams. As the Top 10 individuals qualify for State and Top five top times from non-qualifying teams also qualify if those times don't already fall in the Top 10 finishes.

Valley Heights was led at Regionals by Alex Hardin who posted a time of 18:11.56 to earn third place and capture a spot at the State meet.

While for the Jefferson County North Chargers Trevor Pentlin is headed to State after placing tenth with a time of 18:35.44.
