Holton Wrestling Goes 3-2 To Open Season at Spring Hill Duals

The wrestling season is underway and the Holton Wildcats hit the mats at the Spring Hill Duals on Friday to get their season rolling and finished the day 3-2 in their duals. 

Holton started the day strong with a 57-34 win in the first dual beating Blue Valley West recording eight wins in the bouts wrestled. The next two duals were tight battles but went the way of the Wildcats opponents as Holton fell 41-34 to Olathe South and lost 44-36 against Olathe Northwest. Wildcats responded to close out the tournament with two dominating dual victories beating Shawnee Mission South and Desoto 66-15 and 63-15, respectively. 

A 5-0 day on the mats led the Holton Wildcats at the Spring Hill Duals as Lawson Henry won all his matches at 138lbs claiming each win by pinfall. Henry won in 26 and 25 seconds, along with 1:14, 1:52 and 4:20. At 285lbs Kyler Tannahill posted a 3-0 day in matches wrestled recording three pinfall wins in 30 seconds, 1:01 and 2:26, while Jake Barnes (106lbs), Kolby Roush (126lbs), Cael Jackson (152lbs) and Connor Tannahill (182lbs) all notched 3-1 records on the mats at the Spring Hill Duals. For Roush, Jackson and Tannahill all three wins were by pinfall, while Barnes had a pinfall win, a win by 4-2 decision and also a 10-2 major decision win. Ace Eisenbarth also had three wins on the mat going 3-2 at 160lbs and picking up each win by pinfall. 

Austin Rollett at 220lbs notched a 2-0 day in his two matches wrestled with a pair of pinfall victories, while Taygen Fletcher (120lbs) also won two matches. Both Conner Gilliland (132lbs) and Dylan Aeschliman (170lbs) each notched one win at the Spring Hill Duals. 

Holton will continue their wrestling season on Thursday, December 7th when they host a double dual.
