Marysville Track Competes at Smith Center Redmen Relays

Marysville Bulldogs kept the track and field season rolling competing in their third meet of the season traveling to Smith Center for the Redmen Relays on Tuesday. 

The Bulldogs posted fifth place team finishes as the boys tied for fifth out of 13 schools and the girls took fifth out of 13 schools, also. 

Six first place finishes spearheaded the way for Marysville on the day with four of the six coming in the boys competition. In the field events Matt Lindhorst and Bryson Meinhardt each took home a first place finish winning the pole vault (13'06) and javelin (180'04), respectively. While on the track Jacob Backus raced his way to first in the 300 meter hurdles (43.75) and the Bulldog boys 4x400 meter relay (3:35.36) team earned first place, too. Lindhorst and Backus each added to their day with a third and sixth place finish in the 200 meter dash, respectively, while Meinhardt added a seventh place showing in the triple jump

In the girls side of action Marysville was led by Grace Stohs and Shay Brown. Stohs continued to dominate the pole vault (11'00) claiming another gold in the event, while Brown snagged first place in the 400 meter dash (1:03.43). Brown and Stohs added to their days by finishing third and fourth, respectively in the 200 meter dash. 

Marysville had plenty of strong performances on the day also in both the boys and girls competition. In the boys action Alex White placed fourth and sixth in the 200 and 100 meter dashes, while Andrew Fink took fifth in the 400 meter dash and Davis Lee recorded sixth and eighth place finishes inteh 1600 and 3200 meter runs. It was fifth and seventh place finishes for Garron Champoux in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, while Ethan Craig placed seventh in the 110 meter hurdles. In the field events for the Marysville boys Levi Nordhus placed third in the javelin and eighth in the shot put.

Lady Bulldogs had Avery Williams register three Top seven finishes on the day as she placed second in the 100 meter hurdles, fifth in the long jump and seventh in the 300 meter hurdles. On the track the girls 4x400 meter relay team earned the silver, while Sydney Grauer finished fourth in the 1600 meter run and Makalia Craig placed sixth in the in 100 meter hurdles. Linda Franco finished eighth in the 100 and 200 meter dashes and seventh in the 400, while Aubrey Barton took eighth place in the 800 meter run. Four more gals registered Top eight finishes in field events for Marysville as Nicole Franco placed third in the high jump, Sami Bartels took fifth in the javelin, Erin Rombeck placed sixth in the triple jump and Sydney Pacha took eighth in the javelin. 

Marysville will continue the track season coming up next week on Tuesday, April 17th at the Republic County Invite.
