Maur Hill-Mount Academy & Holton Lead Performances at Hiawatha Boys Golf Invite

Area boys golf teams teed it up on Tuesday in Hiawatha to continue their seasons with six total schools represented. 

Only three of the six had enough golfers for a four-man team score and the Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens notched the best team score with a 182 taking first. Holton finished in second as a team with a team score of 196, while Royal Valley finished out the team standings in third with a 257. 

Leading the way individually on the day was AJ Haussler of Holton has he shot a 40 to take first, while his teammate Ryan Taylor notched a fourth place finish shooting a 45 on the day. Karsen Brandt and Cael Jackson rounded out the Holton team score posting rounds of 52 and 59. 

Maur Hill was led by Isaac Henderson and Riley Funk who finished second and third individually after shooting a 41 and 43, respectively. Austin Coder and Alex Quaile finished out the Ravens team score with rounds of 48 and 50 to place seventh and tenth individually. 

Hiawatha and Atchison each just had one golfer in action but they finished fifth and sixth place, respectively. Caden Lillie of Hiawatha shot a 46 to take fifth, while Nathan Sowers of Atchison also shot a 46 and finished sixth. 

The Horton Chargers were led by Drake Waser who carded a 49 to earn a Top 10 finish placing eighth. 

Royal Valley was led by Corey Humpert who shot a 49 to place ninth for the Panthers. DJ Kester, Paolo Epsis and Sheldon Hess finished out the Panthers team score on the day with rounds of 62, 63 and 83.
