Royal Valley Boys & Perry Lecompton Girls Win Big Seven Track Quad at ACCHS

Big Seven Quad (at ACCHS) Results (4-24-18) - Girls & Boys

Four of the nine Big Seven League teams continued their track and field seasons in League competition as ACCHS played host on Tuesday. 

The Royal Valley boys earned first place as a team with 90 total points winning by 13 points over Perry Lecompton, while ACCHS and Hiawatha finished third and fourth. In the girls competition Perry Lecompton edged Royal Valley by three points for first place, while Hiawatha took third and ACCHS fourth. 

Royal Valley Panthers racked up 12 total event wins on the day with a trio of boys winning multiple events. Mikal Kitchkommie sprinted to times of 11.01 and 22.99 to win the 100 and 200 meter dashes, while Nue Tinajero ran to first place in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs behind times of 5:20.94 and 11:33.22. Kain Fink earned first in the boys high jump (6'04) and triple jump (39'07). Gavin Cumpton and Komesh Spoonhunter each won an event for the Panther boys also winning the 300 meter hurdles (43.89) and shot put (39'01.50), respectively. Lady Panthers on the track had Mary Broxterman win the 300 meter hurdles (52.70), Katie Hanshaw take first in the 3200 meter run (13:51.44) and the 4x400 meter relay (4:38.30) team earned gold. In the field events Morgan Harvey earned first place for the lady Panthers in the triple jump (34'07). 

Cali Coleman led the Perry Lecompton Kaws performances on the day as she won the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 12.90 and 27.18 and also posted a leap of 15'09.50 to take first in the long jump. The lady Kaws 4x100 meter relay (58.07) team also took first, while in the field events Mykiah McDaniel won the discus (108'07), Talisa Stone took first in the high jump (5'04) and Morgen Coyle placed first in the javelin (100'02). Perry Lecompton boys earned first in the 4x400 meter relay (3:45.33), while Spencer Funk won the javelin (132'11.50). 

Eight first place finishes led the Hiawatha Red Hawks on the day as Elizabeth Kettler won a pair of events the 800 and 1600 meter run behind times of 2:35.16 and 5:39. Also on the track for the lady Red Hawks Claire Geiger won the 100 meter hurdles (16.68) and the 4x800 meter relay (11:08) took first, while in the field events Kaysi Overdick won the shot put (33'00). Hiawatha boys had the 4x800 meter relay (9:21) team take first, while Justin Hodge won the 800 meter run (2:22.39) and Brode Jones won the discus (129'06). 

ACCHS Tigers had a trio of first place finishes on the day as the boys 4x100 meter relay (46.79) took first and Tucker Smith won the boys 400 meter dash (53.82), while Jaycee Ernzen won the girls 400 meter dash (1:05.34).
