After Mother Nature washed out games on Tuesday for Northeast Kansas League legion baseball teams it held off enough to allow a few teams to play on Wednesday night. 

Sabetha played host to Corning and picked up a pair of wins notching 7-0 and 10-0 wins, while Doniphan County topped Falls City 8-0 on the road in non-league play. Silver Lake was awarded a pair of forfeit wins over Seneca, while the Hiawatha versus Marysville doubleheader was rained out. 

Sabetha Stymies Corning's Offense Sweeping Doubleheader
Sabetha earned the sweep in Northeast Kansas League play on Wednesday night holding Corning in check notching 7-0 and 10-0 wins. 

Game one was highlighted by the pitching of Blake Frey and early offense for Sabetha. After a two-out single in the top of the first for Corning which proved to be one of their only five base runners in the game it was Sabetha in the bottom of the first scoring four runs. Using three hits and two walks Sabetha produced four runs in the first highlighted by a RBI double from Brandon Brownlee and two RBI single by Riley Hermann. Sabetha tacked on a run in the second on a RBI single by Braden Argabright, another in the third on an RBI single by Hermann and one more run in the fourth on an RBI single by Brett Stallbaumer making it 7-0. Corning down to their final three outs of the contest got a single and another runner on via error in the seventh but could not score and Sabetha grabbed the 7-0 win. 

Frey was strong on the mound tossing six innings for the win giving up just two hits and no walks and struckout four. While offensively Stallbaumer led the way going 3-3 with two runs scored and an RBI and played strong defense. The duo of Frey and Stallbaumer were named co - McDonald's "Players of the Game" on KNZA. Hermann also had a strong game going 2-3 with three RBI's. In the loss Corning had Ian Haverkamp toss six innings of action, while Kamble Haverkamp, Josh Hasenkamp and Brennan Carver each had a hit. 

Game two saw Sabetha win 10-0 in four innings as they capitalized on walks in the showdown. In the bottom of the first Sabetha batted around and with five walks, two errors and an RBI double by Kyle Grimm scored six runs to take early control. In the third Sabetha added four runs on five more walks, two errors and two hits to make it 10-0. Corning managed only one base runner in the contest coming on a single by Haverkamp in the fourth inning. 

Stallbaumer picked up the win on the mound tossing four innings giving up just one hit and went 1-2 with a run scored and walk. Grimm finished with a 1-2 showing with an RBI, run scored, double and reached on an error. Corning in the loss was hurt by five errors and also gave up 10 walks. 

The wins move Sabetha to 14-5 on the season, while Corning with the losses fall to 1-9 on the year. 

Doniphan County Cruises Past Falls City For Road Win
After not getting to play on Tuesday night at home against Leavenworth Doniphan County headed to Falls City on Wednesday and picked up the 8-0 win in five innings. 

Brock Blair paved the way for Doniphan County tossed the five inning shutout allowing just four hits in the contest and struckout nine for the win. While offensively for Doniphan County Reid Greaser was 3-3 with four RBI and a home run and Bradly Libel notched two hits and scored a pair of runs. 

The win moves Doniphan County to 10-4 on the season.
