Jefferson County North Girls and Boys Capture Nemaha Central Cross Country Titles

Nemaha Central Cross Country Invite – Results.

The Nemaha Central cross country invite was held Thursday at Spring Creek Golf Course in Seneca, and the Jefferson County North girls and boys each took first place.

On the girls side JCN had five runners inside of the top 12, as Zetta Noll led the way for the Chargers taking third with a time of 23:33.00.  Rose Wendling also took ninth for JCN with a time of 25:22.10, followed by Makayla Ratsloff, Madi Meyers and Liz Easterday.

Washington County’s Natalie Harlan won the girls race with a time of 21:41.40, while Axtell’s Olivia Kuckelman took second over 90 second behind with a time of 23:08.70 and Jordyn Smith fifth with a time of 24:20.50.

ACCHS had two runners inside of the top 15 led by Victoria Caplinger who took fourth with a time of 24:04.70, followed by the twin sister duo of Ashton and Madison Appel who took 14th and 15, respectively.

Doniphan West had one top 15 finish in Elle Wiliams who took sixth, while Centralia had Tamra Jones finish seventh and Maur Hill-Mount Academy had Caeli Haigh take eighth.

On the boys side the Charger boys had two guys finish inside of the top 10, as Trevor Pentlin took second with a time of 19:04.70 while Logan Baker took tenth at 20:37.60.

Axtell’s Quinn Buessing won the meet on the boys side with a speedy time of 18:40.60, while Simon Schmitz of the Eagles took sixth at 20:16.00 and Mitchell Buessing ninth as Axtell took second as a team.

Centralia finished third as a team and had three guys inside of the top 15, led by Tahj Engelken who took fifth with a time of 19:56.40. Devon Feldkamp also took sixth for the Panthers, while Ransom Engelken finished 13th.

Maur Hill-Mount Academy also had two guys inside of the top 15, as William Humburg led the way with an eighth place finish while Jake Heim took 15th.

Washington County and Wetmore each had a guy finish inside the top five, as the Tigers had Tyler Simmons take third with a time of 19:11.40 while the Cardinals saw Jonathan Hladky-Bailey take fourth.

Finishing out the top 15 on the boys side Horton saw Skye Joe Coversup take seventh, while Hiawatha had Gabe Corbett take 12th and Nemaha Central had Dominic Hammes finish 14th.
