Jefferson County North Girls, Frankfort Boys Record Top Showings at Centralia Cross Country Invite

Centralia Cross Country Invitational - Results

The high school cross country season continued Saturday as Centralia hosted an Invitational, and Jefferson County North led the way on the girls’ side with a first place finish while Frankfort had the best finish on the boys’ side taking second.

The Chargers were led by five top 15 finishers, led by Zetta Noll who took third with a time of 21:52.00. Rose Wendling and Liz Easterday also took eighth and ninth, respectively, while Madi Meyers and Makayla Ratzlaff took 14th and 15th.

The Centralia girls also had a strong showing taking third as a team, led by Tamra Jones who took fifth while Emma Holthaus finished 11th.

Clifton-Clyde finished with two runners inside of the top 15, as Jaysie Bower finished seventh while Karsyn Sikes took 13th.

The meet was won by Washington County’s Natalie Harlan who took the top spot with a time of 20:10.00, while Axtell’s Olivia Kuckelman took second, 18 second behind Harlan.

On the boys side Frankfort led the way with the best area finish taking second behind three top 15 finishers. Colton Parthemer led the way for the Wildcats taking fifth with a time of 18:03.00, while Brandon Anderson took seventh and Cody Evans 13th.

Jefferson County North finished third as a team with two runners inside of the top 15, as Trevor Pentlin led the way taking second with a time of 17:29.00 while Logan Baker took 12th.

Pentlin’s time was 7 seconds behind the winner of the meet, Axtell’s Quinn Buessing who took the top spot with a time of 17:23.00.

Washington County and Centralia also had runners inside of the top 10, as the Tigers had Tyler Simmons take third while the Panthers saw Tahj Engelken take ninth.

The top 15 finishers were rounded out by Wetmore and Horton, as the Cardinals had Jonathan Hladky-Bailey take 14th and the Chargers Skye Joe Coversup who finished in 15th.
