Sabetha Bluejay grapplers continue the great start to the season on the mat as they won the Rockport double dual in Rockport, Missouri last night beating Auburn (NE) and host Rockport.

Five Bluejays went a perfect 2-0 on the night in the double with seniors, Levi Huneke (182), Tyler Edelman (195) leading the way. While, juniors, Michael Baumgartner (160) and Bradnon Harrell (170) also earned a 2-0 night and sophomore, Ross Strathman (152) joined them.

It was a tight dual with Rockport first on the night for Sabetha as they registered a two-point win, 35-33. Huneke, Edelman, Baumgartner, Harrell and Strathman all earned wins. Edelman won by forfeit as did his teammate sophomore, Austin Garber (126). Baumgartner, Harrell and Strathman all registered their wins via decision, while Huneke and senior, Brandon Pokrandt both earned wins via pin.

Second dual of the night was a little more in favor of Sabetha as they dispatched Auburn (NE), 39-26. Against Auburn, the Bluejays earned four wins by forfeit for Strathman, Baumgartner, Harrell and Huneke. Both senior, Thaine Allen (120) and junior, Noah Krehbeil (145) earned victories via pinfall, while Edelman was locked in a dual that he ultimately came out on top by decision, 9-8.

Up next for the Bluejays they play host to a wrestling tournament tomorrow for the Tri-State Tourney hosted by Sabetha, which gets underway at 9:30am.
