Sabetha Girls and Boys Lead Area Track Team Performances at Perry Lecompton

Big 7 Quad at Perry - Results

The Big 7 League track season rolled along Tuesday night as Perry Lecompton hosted a quad, and just like the Big 7 typically is it was a highly competitive day.

On the girl’s side Sabetha led the way with the most first place finishes with seven, beginning with Skylar McAfee winning the 800-meter run and Jadyn Dorn taking the 1600-meter run. Megan Meyer also won the 3200-meter run, while Leah Renyer rounded out individual gold medal winners as she took the discus throw. The Lady Jays rounded out the day with two relay wins, taking the 4 by 400- and 80-meter relays.

Royal Valley also had a strong day with six first place finishes on the girl’s side, as their day opened with Kenzie Hegemann winning the 400-meter dash. Kenzie Ogden also took home the 100 and 300-meter hurdle crowns, while Ivy Fink won the high jump and long jump to go along with the 4 by 100-meter relay team taking gold.

Perry Lecompton finished off girls first place finishers with five, as Cali Coleman and Campbell Keller won the 100 and 200-meter dashes, respectively. Ally Nally also won the shot put, while Morgen Coyle while the javelin and Cali Coleman the triple jump.

The boy’s side was dominated by Sabetha on Tuesday, as the Bluejays opened up the day with Micah Romines and Henry Glynn taking the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run. Sabetha also won the boy’s 4 by 800-meter relay, while Mason Engelken won the 110 and 300-meter hurdles. Kaden Dillon also won 3200-meter run, while Elliott Strahm won the shot put and discus. Kaleb Grimm took home gold in the javelin throw, while Foster Saner won the pole vault to end the day for the Bluejays.

Perry Lecompton added six more gold medal winners, with Dalton Kellum and Shane Quinlan winning the 100 and 200-meter dashes. The Kaws also won the 4 by 400-meter relay, while Calvin McPherson took the 1600-meter gold medal. Perry ended the day with two field event wins, as Caden Dean won the long jump while Colton Mallonee took home gold in the triple jump.

Royal Valley finished out the day with two first place finishes, as Kain Fink won the high jump while the boys also won the 4 by 100-meter relay.
