2019 AA Zone Tournament at Sabetha - Bracket

The final week of the legion baseball regular season got underway last night with our final regular season broadcast on 103.9 KNZA, and Sabetha picked up a sweep of Topeka taking game one 8-7 and the second 9-2.

In game one Sabetha had to battle back trailing 6-4 going into the bottom of the fourth, but in that fourth the Raptors were able to tie the game at two with the big hit coming on an RBI triple by Blake Frey.

Topeka wasted no time taking the lead right back with a run in the fifth, but in the bottom of the sixth Sabetha took the lead for good on a 2-RBI double from Braden Argabright.

Argabright was named our co-player of the game on KNZA with his game-winning hit, while Blake Frey was our other player of the game as he was on base four times with two walks, a triple, a double and three runs scored.

In game two Argabright took a perfect game into the fifth for Sabetha before the Raptors went on to win by a 9-2 final.

The Raptors took an early 1-0 lead on a 2-out single by Riley Herrmann in the bottom of the first inning, before Sabetha tacked on five runs in the second aided by 5 walks and 3 wild pitches.

Sabetha added two more runs in the third with the big hit being Blake Frey's second triple of the evening.

While Sabetha picked up a sweep Tuesday night Corning did the same taking two games from Seneca winning game one 8-7 and the second 4-3 on a walk-off home run by Austin Holthaus.

In Corning’s game one win Quinn Buessing led the charge with two hits, two RBI and three runs scored, while Presley Bowers, Austin Holthaus and Hunter Koch each collected two hits.

Game two featured much better pitching with 17 combined strikeouts, but Corning was able to pick up RBI’s from Bowers and Kamble Haverkamp before Austin Holthaus delivered the walk-off home run in the bottom of the fifth.
