Plenty of action was on the mat over the weekend with area wrestling squads and many area teams performed well.

Kaw Valley Duals

Onaga Buffalos continued their wrestling season last week at Rossville as part of the Kaw Valley Duals. Three first places were captured by Onaga in the duals as the Buffalos performed well on the mat.

It was Mychal Kolterman, Matt Marten and Kyle Adams all capturing first place finishes with the weight classes of 285, 220 and 182lbs.

Onaga continues their season on the mat next after the start of the year on January 5th as they take part in the Herington Invitational.

Royal Valley Dual Tournament

The Marysville Bulldogs captured the six team tournament dual hosted by Royal Valley winning all five matchups on the day. Bulldogs beat Hays 34-30, 51-21 win over Royal Valley, 57-18 win over Santa Fe Trail, 41-36 win over Lincoln East and the tightest match was with Abilene a 37-36 win for Marysville.

Royal Valley at their home tournament registered a fourth place finish on the day with wins over Santa Fe Trail and Lincoln East. Santa Fe Trail went 0-5 on the day with their matches.
