Sabetha Girls and Royal Valley Boys Win Big In Hoyt

On the last regular season Friday night of the high school basketball season, the Sabetha Bluejays would be in Hoyt, Kansas to play the Royal Valley Panthers. It was a split decision at the end of the night as the Sabetha Girls got the win 62-31, and the Royal Valley boys got the win 63-43.

 In the Girls game the Ladyjays got the win 62-31. Sabetha was lead in scoring by Junior Leah Renyer with 15 points. Maggi Hughes chipped in 9 points, and Kinley Schuette also netted 9 points. The Royal Valley Lady Panthers were lead in scoring by Kloee Michael with 9 points. Kennedy Bryan chipped in 9 points in the loss for the Panthers as well. Sabetha went 8 of 14 from the free throw line, and Royal Valley went 4 of 7 from the line. The Sabetha girls with the win move to 17-2 overall, and 11-2 in the League while the Lady Panthers fell to 3-16 on the season with their 11th straight loss.  

The Royal Valley got the win in the boys game by a final score of 63-43. Royal Valley was lead in scoring by Nachs Wahwassuck who had 22 points including a big one-handed dunk in the contest. Komesh Spoonhunter netted 14 points, and Brady Klotz chipped in 12 points as well. The Panther boys are now 18-1 overall on the season and have won 11 consecutive games with all but one of those victories coming by at least 12 points. 

Sabetha Boys were lead in scoring by Kaleb Evans who had 15 points in the loss. Braden Argabright also netted 10 points as the Sabetha Boys fall to 10-9 overall and 6-7 in the League with the loss.

Both the Royal Valley girls and boys teams will be at home next Tuesday night for a Non-League matchup with the Silver Lake Eagles to finish their regular season.

Both Sabetha teams will once again be on the road next Tuesday night to conclude their regular season against league and county rivals Nemaha Central Thunder
