It was the first varsity volleyball win against Holton since 2016 on Tuesday night as Perry Lecompton earned a pair of Big 7 League wins by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-17 in the first match and then completed the sweep with a 25-23 and 25-22 final.

In the home opener for the Wildcats, senior night was celebrated and that meant 10 Holton seniors would get opportunities to start and play in the opening set of both matches, despite only a couple having previous varsity experience. The losses left the Cats 2-2 on the season, while Perry improved their record to 3-1 on the year.

Perry Lecompton played with a lead the majority of the five sets, minus the second set that Holton prevailed and the first half of game number four. Holton never had a lead bigger than four points on the night, while the Kaws biggest margin was jumping out early in the decisive third set of the opener with a 5-1, 9-2 and eventual 12-3 lead. And while the Wildcats rotated in 14 varsity players on the night, Perry used only a seven-player rotation.
