The high school football season got underway last night for the Jackson Heights Cobras who opened the season after a two-week team quarantine hosting ACCHS and it was all Cobras in game one last night in a 41-6 win over the Tigers.

It was all Cobras from the start as Jackson Heights jumped out to a 7-0 lead on a 25-yard touchdown run by Jason Bosley before he made it a 13-0 lead after one quarter on a two-yard score.

ACCHS had a pair of opportunities in the second quarter to put a drive together but Jackson Heights ended the half with a pick-six by Julian Butto and a 15-yard touchdown pass from Bosley to Grant Amon to lead 26-0 at the break.

The Cobras would get two more rushing touchdowns by Bosley in the second half to ice the game away while ACCHS got their long score on a Ty Crossland 6-yard run late in the fourth.

Bosley was named our Player to Bank On on 103.9 KNZA as he finished 167 rushing yards and four touchdowns to go along with one passing score while Julian Butto was named our “Lineman of the Game”.

Jackson Heights starts 2020 1-0 and will host Centralia Friday in what should be a big game on 92.1 KMZA while ACCHS is 1-1 and will travel to McLouth.
