KANSAS- The Kansas Shrine Bowl Board of Directors would like to announce the assistant coaches for the 2021 Kansas Shrine Bowl. The assistant coaches are chosen based on the success of their season, as well as eligibility limitations and coach availability. The coaching staffs for the 48th Annual Kansas Shrine Bowl features 14 of the most talented and respected coaches in the state. The 48th Annual Kansas Shrine Bowl will be played at Gowans Stadium on the campus of Hutchinson Community College on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at 7 p.m.
Among those selected as assistant coaches for the game was Holton Head Coach Brooks Barta to represent Class 3A on the East side.
Barta just wrapped up his 25th season as the head man at Holton where he surpassed 230 wins after going 9-2 this past season.
This will be the fifth time Barta has been an assistant coach at the Shrine Bowl after being a head coach in the game back in 2000 and a player in the game back in 1988 for the West.
He is a Kansas Shrine Bowl Hall of Fame Inductee and in his coaching career has just 56 losses to his credit.
