Big 7 League Quad at Nemaha Central – Results

Area track and field teams were also in action yesterday with Big 7 League teams competing in a pair of quads and at the Nemaha Central quad the Thunder claimed first for both the girls and boys.

At Nemaha Central the Thunder girls had nine first place finishes led by Julie Rottinghaus who claimed the long jump and triple jump while Hannah Scott won the shot put and javelin, Ella Larkin the discus, Madison Lortscher the pole vault, Hailey Nordus the 400-meter dash and the 4 by 100 and 400-meter relay teams also taking gold.

The Hiawatha girls had a pair of first pitch finishers as well as Claire Geiger won the 200-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles while Kate Madsen won the 800 and 1600-meter runs and Brenna Diller the 100-meter dash.

On the boy’s side the Thunder won the meet with 13 first place finishes led by Dylan Lortscher who won the 110 and 300-meter hurdles along with the high jump while Mo Hilbert added wins in the 200-meter dash and pole vault.

The Thunder also got wins from John Langill in the 3200-meter run, Gavin Cain in the 100-meter dash, Sam McWilliams in the long jump and triple jump, Nathan Deters in the shot put and discus, and the Thunder 4 by 100 and 800-meter relay teams also taking home wins.

Hiawatha added a trio of winners as Justin Hodge won the 800 and 1600-meter runs while Riley Gibbs won the 400-meter run.

Perry Lecompton rounded out the meet with a pair of wins at Billy Welch won the javelin while the 4 by 400-meter relay team took home gold.
