Cross Country: Sabetha Girls and Hiawatha Boys Win Big 7 Titles

The Big 7 Cross Country Meets were held on Thursday at Hoyt City Park in Hoyt and it was the Sabetha girls and Hiawatha boys taking home the league titles. 

For the girls it was Mary Lukert and Leah Lukert of Sabetha finishing 1st and 2nd respectively. 

Hailey Nordhus (Nemaha Central), Piper Robinson (Holton), and Laura Metzger (Sabetha) finishing off the top five. 

Maizie Hageman (Hiawatha), Cheyenne Hittle (Royal Valley), Elly Clinton (Sabetha), Kyndall Sextro (Nemaha Central), and Katie Bartlett (Perry Lecompton) round out the top 10 finishes. 

Girls Team Standings 

1. Sabetha
2. Nemaha Central
3. Holton
4. Jefferson West
5. Perry Lecompton
6. Royal Valley
7. Hiawatha

It was the Sabetha boys who dominated at the top but it was Hiawatha who ended up taking home the league title. 

Sabetha's Kalvin Evans and Tyrese Bishop finish 1st and 2nd while Cameron Harrell finished in 5th. 

John Langill (Nemaha Central), and Camden Bachman (Hiawatha) also in the top five finishing 3rd and 4th respectively. 

Calvin Ogden (Royal Valley), Felix McCartney (Hiawatha), Quinton Nelson (Royal Valley), Rylan Pittaway (Holton), and John Bevitt (Jefferson West) round out the top 10.
