Atchison Boys Win KCA League Meet; Girls Finish Third

The Atchison track and field teams competed at the KCA League Meets on Thursday at Ameila Earhart Stadium.

The Phoenix boys finished first place while the girls finished in third place behind Sumner and Washington. 

The Atchison boys finished with 132 points while Sumner finished in second place with 114 points. Harmon finished in third with 105 followed by Wyandotte with 68, Washington 61, and Schlagle 32. 

The Atchison girls finished with 69 points to finish in third place. Sumner Academy took home first place with 160 points and Washington finished in second with 107 points. 

Harmon finished in fourth with 59 points followed by Wyandotte with 39 and Schlagle with four points. 

The Atchison girls were led by Presley Simpson as she won the shot put, discus, and javelin events. 

The Atchison boys got a bevy of first place finishes. Christopher Tschauder won both the 1600 and 3200 meter events while Parker Snowden won the 300 meter hurdles. Snowden would also go on to win the javelin and pole vault. 

Jesse Greenly also added a top finish as he won the discus.
