Area boys golf teams competed at the 2A Regional hosted by Sacred Heart at Salina Municipal on Monday and it was Jayden DeWalt of Valley Heights who posted the best finish with a round of 80 which was good for sixth place. 

DeWalt qualifies for the 2A State Tournament next Monday and Tuesday which will be at Emporia Municipal Golf Course. 

Horton and Oskaloosa also was part of the field. Horton finished in fifth place with a team score of 421 while Oskaloosa finished with a score of 508 which was good for eighth place. 

Horton posted two inside the top 20 with Kaden Smith and Cooper Wischropp as they finished in a tie for 19th place as they both shot 100. 

Oskaloosa's top finish was from Austin Wilson as he fired a round of 92 which was good for a 12th place finish.
