By Brandon Tadtman

State Golf Tournaments around Kansas were cut short due to weather this week. Class 6A was the only classification to finish their 2-day event on Tuesday.

Plenty of area golfers participated in Class 3A and 4A. Nemaha Central's Isaac Lueger led the way for our area athletes as he finished tied for ninth in 3A with an 81 on Monday at Salina Municipal Golf Course.

Nemaha Central was the only area team out of these two classes to qualify for a team score as the Thunder tallied a 352 with Hesston winning the team title with a score of 319.

Aidan Broxterman shot an 87, Carter Lutz an 89, Brandon Rogers a 95, Ian Ganstrom a 99, and Korbin Macke a 101 to round out Nemaha Central's entries.

Sabetha had two participants led by Roman Scoby with an 89 while Dalton Rokey shot a 95 for the Bluejays.

Jefferson West also sent two with Colby Farrant leading the way for the Tigers with a 92 while Samuel Brunton shot a 101.

There was one local golfer in Class 4A and it was Holton's Parker Crouch competing at Sand Creek Station in Newton.

Parker shot an 89 to post a top-30 finish.
