Hiawatha Boys and Nemaha Central Girls Win Big 7 League Cross Country Titles

The Hiawatha boys and Nemaha Central girls won the Big 7 League Cross Country Titles on Thursday (10/14). 

Nemaha Central's John Langil won the boys individual title followed by Hiawatha's Camden Bachman and Felix McCartney who finished second and third respectively. Sabetha's Charlie Lukert and Kalvin Evans rounded out the top five. 

Jordan Hodge of Hiawatha finished in sixth, Jacob Warner of Holton finished seventh, Royal Valley's Quinton Nelson finished eighth, Bob Langill of Nemaha Central finished in ninth, and Riley Gibbs of Hiawatha rounded out the top 10. 

Nemaha Central finished in second place followed by Royal Valley, Holton, Sabetha, Jefferson West, and Perry Lecompton. 

The Nemaha Central girls won the League Title for the first time since 1987 and had three finish in the top five with Maddy Mosteller in second place, Kyndall Sextro in fourth, and Hailey Nordhus in fifth place. 

Royal Valley's Cheyenne Hittle won the individual title as the Panthers had two more place inside the top 11. Sabetha's Laura Metzger finished in third place. 

Maizie Hageman of Hiawatha finished in sixth place, Addilyn Lefferd of Royal Valley finished seventh, Jyllian Stapleton of Sabetha finished eighth, Aubrey Phillips of Jefferson West finished ninth, and Eva Cortes of Holton finished in 10th. 

Holton finished in second place behind Nemaha Central followed by Royal Valley, Sabetha, and Hiawatha.
