8-Man All-Star Game Will Feature Nine TVL Football Stars

Football in Northeast Kansas as been great for a long time and in the Kanzaland area especially. Well 8-Man portion of football in Northeast Kansas and the Kanzaland area is highlighted with Twin Valley League teams and continues to feature great teams and players on a yearly basis's.

The 28th annual 8-Man All-Star game in Beloit, KS at Trojan Field again this season will feature plenty of area athlete's all hailing form the Twin Valley League. Nine area TVL football players will strap up the football pads for the All-Star games for 8-Man Division I & II games on June 8th, with one are coach also participating.

On the Division II side the B&B Falcons highlight the East squad with three players on the roster after a perfect 13-0 record and a 8-Man Division II state title this year, their third in the last five years, playing in a state championship game the last five seasons. The senior trio of Curtis Stallbaumer, Jay Haverkamp and Dustin Deters for the Falcons were all staples to B&B's success this season and will have a chance to strap up the football pads for one last time after their high school career before moving on to college. Stallbaumer anchored the offensive and defensive line for B&B, while Haverkamp also played on the offensive line and on defense at linebacker. They both help block for Dustin Deters on the offense as Deters came out of the backfield as a tailback, rushing for over 1,000 yards this season, while playing linebacker on defense.

A team B&B beat twice this season once in the regular season and the other in the semifinals of the playoffs, while have a pair of seniors featured in the All-Star game, as Hanover Wildcat, quarterback/defensive back, Cody Neiman and runningback/defensive back, Mark Zarybnicky both will suit up for the game. Both guys were the main portion of the offense for the Wildcats this season who went 9-3 on the season. Zarybnicky ran for 1,100 plus yards, while Neiman ran for 700 plus yards and threw for over 900 yards. Their coach, Matt Heuer will join them at the All-Star game as he will lead the 8-Man Division II East squad.

The other two guys playing in the 8-Man Division II game are Aaron Schmelzle from Axtell and Bobby O'Neill from Blue Valley-Randolph. Schmelzle lead the Eagles this season with over 700 yards rushing and close to 20 touchdowns on the ground and was a staple for Axtell during his years on the squad. O'Neill made plenty of plays for the Rams all season and during his years on the football team leading they way in the trenches.

In the Division I game two Clifton-Clyde Eagles will be playing in the game as seniors, Blake Quillen and Alex Deaver were staples for the Eagles. Quillen lead along both the offensive and defensive lines, while Deaver was arguably the best runningback in the TVL having multiple 100 plus yards games with consistency.

8-Man All-Star games will take place in Beloit, Kansas on June 8th at Trojan Field. Full rosters (click here)
