State Cross Country Meet Headlines

The 2022 Cross Country season ended on Saturday (10/29) with State Meets taking place in Wamego and Lawrence. 

1A, 2A, and 4A was in Wamego while 3A, 5A, and 6A was in Lawrence. 

4A Boys: Atchison's Christopher Tschauder finished in 52nd place while Holton's Jacob Warner finished in 57th place. 

3A Boys: The Hiawatha boys finished in third place behind only Wichita Trinity and Southeast of Saline. Camden Bachman led the way for the Redhawks finishing in 20th place. Felix McCartney finished in 34th place while Jordan Hodge finished in 41st place. Nemaha Central placed 11th overall and they were led by John Langill who finished in 10th place. Marysville posted a top 10 finish with Silas Miller finishing in eighth place. 

3A Girls: Madilyn Mosteller of Nemaha Central nearly posted a top 10 finish as she finished in 13th place. Brynn O'Neil of Marysville finished in 23rd place while Royal Valley's Cheyenne Hittle finished in 37th place. 

2A Boys: Jefferson County North finished eight place overall out of the 12 team field. Chargers were led by Isaac Kane and Lucas Meredith who finished in 25th and 29th place respectively. Lane Edmonds finished in 59th place. Pleasant Ridge finished in 12th place overall and they were led by Tristen Baker who finished in 69th place. McLouth posted two in the top 40 with Henry Cloyd and Dylan Stemmons finishing in 35th and 37th place respectively. 

2A Girls: Oskaloosa finished in 11th place overall and were led by Holly Thacher who finished in 51st place. Katelyn Vogel and Taylor Peterson finished in 55th and 56th place respectively. Amelia Brown of Valley Falls finished in 40th place. 

1A Boys: Axtell finished in fourth place overall behind only Quinter, Beloit-St. John's, and Ness City. Grady Buessing led the way for the Eagles finishing in 14th place. Gavin Shaughnessy finished in 37th place while Blaise Buessing finished in 49th place. Washington County finished in eighth place overall. The Tigers were led by Garrison Sand who finished in 28th place. Brody Applegarth and Drake Baker finished in 45th and 62nd place respectively. Wetmore's Kristopher Fulkerson finished in 38th place while Centralia's Race Engelken finished in 46th place. 

1A Girls: Doniphan West finished in ninth place overall while Clifton Clyde and Frankfort finished 11th and 12th place respectively. The Mustangs were led by Claire Cole who posted a top 10 finish by taking eighth place. Rylan Florence posted a top 50 finish as she finished 48th. Clifton Clyde was led by Elisa Sorell who finished in 33rd place while Whitley Sikes finished in 52nd place. Frankfort was led by Holland Shirley who finished in 45th place.
