K-Preps have their updated football rankings out ahead of the Sectional round playoff games on Friday night.

The Axtell Eagles remain the top team in 8M-II as the defending State Champs continue to win and win big. Axtell beat Central Christian last week 50-0 and closed out the game at halftime for their 23rd straight win. Axtell travels to 9-1 Osborne for their game this week.

They'll host #2 Olpe this week in a rematch of the State Semi-Finals last year. Olpe won that game and went on to win the State Championship.

Nemaha Central and Sabetha both remain alive in Class 2A and are ranked once again this week. The Thunder improved to 10-0 after beating the defending champs in Rossville 36-13. Nemaha Central is ranked #2 behind Southeast of Saline. The Thunder make the long road trip to Humboldt this week. The Bluejays improved to 8-2 after beating down Riley County last week and are ranked #4 this week. Sabetha will host Caney Valley this week.

The Holton Wildcats are ranked #2 in 3A behind only Andale who's won nearly 50 games in a row. Holton improved to 9-1 last week after beating Bishop Ward 56-0. The Wildcats play at #5 and undefeated Girard this week for their Sectional round game.
