The Panthers jumped out to a 9-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended that to 24-17 at halftime.

The Kaws looked like a different team in the second half as they outscored the Panthers 15-8 in the third quarter and 13-4 in the fourth quarter.

They led by nine at the end of the first quarter and 10 at halftime.

They would slowly continue to build on their lead in the second half and would ultimately get some of the younger players into the game in the final few minutes.

The Kaws were balanced with their scoring as all five of their starters scored at least eight points with Kamryn Kaniper leading the way with 15.

Royal Valley posted two players in double figures with Preston Ross leading the way with 13 points while Daniel Coleman added 12.

Both teams finished the game with nine turnovers. The Kaws hit six of their nine free throw attempts while the Panthers hit 10 of their 15 free throws.

Kaws head into the break at 5-1 overall and 3-0 in Big 7 play while the Panthers even up their record at 3-3 overall and 2-3 in league play.

Up next for both after the break, Royal Valley will travel to Hiawatha on Jan. 6th while Perry Lecompton will travel to Riverside.
