The Hiawatha Post 66 Legion Baseball Team posted their best summer in recent memory this year as they made the State Tournament in Topeka and had their first winning season since 2006.
They would have multiple four-game winning streaks during the regular season and had a memorable Zone Tournament. During the Zone Tournament, they won three straight games while facing elimination against Seneca and Doniphan County twice.
That three-game stretch was dominant as they outscored Seneca and Doniphan County 47-3. Individual highlights include Xavier Oldham hitting over .500 while Carson Bredemeier posted a .400 average. Sam Dunn hit multiple home runs during the Zone Tournament and Joel Bryan allowed just one earned run in 31 innings prior to the State Tournament.
The season ended with a loss to the Kansas Senators in the State Semi-Finals finishing with a record of 16-13.
