The Seneca Post 21 legion baseball team defeated Doniphan County Post 55 on Wednesday night 13-5 powered by a five-run first inning.
Trailing 2-0 going into the bottom of the first, Seneca put up five runs on four hits highlighted by a two-RBI single by Levi Thomas and an RBI single by Sam Nordhus.
They would add three more runs in the second inning which included a two-RBI single by Derek Wurtz.
Kaden Peterson pitched all six innings for Seneca to pick up the win as he would give up four earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.
All but one player in the Seneca lineup scored at least one run with four different players scoring two runs.
The Doniphan County production included an RBI sinlge by Cooper Eberly, an RBI single by Logan Blevins, and an RBI single by Ryder Davis.
Levi Thomas of Seneca was the McDonald's of Hiawatha and Seneca Player of the Game by reaching base four times with three hits and three RBI's.
